The Week of September 12th...

Hello "All Stars", Hope your weekend was fun! As we finish up the last two days of District Benchmark testing, we are starting to roll along the schedule. Keep in mind, "Preparation is never lost time" and college graduation is our goal. Review your notes from each math class and ensure you understand the vocabulary and the concepts. Come to class with questions and be prepared to help answer questions too. Remember you are good at Math!


Here is the plan for week:



Intensive Math 6th Grade: (Team Time Group)



Review Decimal Operations and Gizmo quiz due by 9.13.11


Test on Decimals (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Decimals) Friday, 9.16.11.


Homework: Review your notes from class for 15mins everyday!


Period: 5B and 6B


Math Connects Course 2 (MJ2: Pre-Alg):


Benchmark Testing 9.13.11


Topic: Absolute Values and Positive and Negative Integers


Review Absolute Values and Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying Positive and Negative Integers.


Introduction to Dividing Positive and Negative Integers and Introduction to Gizmos


Chapter Review and Discussion

Mon: 1 Hour of Compass Odyssey and Gimzo Assignment due on 9.18.11


Skills Practices Dividing Integers 1-3D, pages 23-24 (All problems) due 9.15.11


Thur: Login to Online Books and complete Practice Test for Chapter 1 #1-21 due on 9.19.11


Study and Review for Integers Test on 9.21.11

Wed: Login on to Online Math Book and complete Practices Test for Chap 1 #1-23 due on Friday, 9.16.11. 4B class Practice Test Chap 1 assignment is due on 9.19.11.


Fri: Study and Review for Decimals Test (Adding, Subtracting, Mulitplying, and Dividing) on 9.20.11.


Compass Odyssey Note:


Please pardon the interruptions in Compass Odyssey, and thank you for keeping up with the assignments, I was glad to see so many working that Math! All students should be working in either FCAT Prep 6th grade Big Idea 1 or Big Idea 2 and continuing with the Learning Paths.


Consider Compass Odyssey as an assignment and you will receive an assignment grade based on your progress in the learning path and completion of assignments. Remember, 1 hour each week is the minimum. If you have questions or challenges with the assignments, please inform me as soon as possible via email. You guys are great! Thanks for being All Stars
