The Week of September 19th

Hello "All Stars", We are clear of Benchmarks and the Lion's portion of diagnostics. Now, we get into our course learning. Keys to success are reviewing your notes from each math class and ensure you understand the vocabulary. Apply your learning as much as possible to your daily activities, add, subtract multiply and divide as often as possible to master your learning, and come to class with questions and be prepared to help answer questions too.
Remember, Math is about making complicated things simple!


Here is the plan for week:
Intensive Math 6th Grade: (Team Time Group)
Introductions to Fractions (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing)
Test on Decimals (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Decimals) changed to 9.21.11.
Homework: Review your notes from class for 15mins everyday!

Period: 5B and 6B
Math Connects Course 2 (MJ2: Pre-Alg):
Absolute Values and Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying Positive and Negative Integers test on 9.21.11.
Pre-Assessment on Rational Numbers
Topic: Introduction to Rational Numbers:
Terminating and Repeating Decimals and Comparing and Ordering Rational Numbers.
Review Gizmos and Compass Odyssey Procedures

Homework:
Mon: 1 Hour of Compass Odyssey and Gimzo Assignment due on 9.26.11
Login to Online Books and complete Practice Test for Chapter 1 #1-21 due on 9.19.11
Study and Review for Integers Test on 9.21.11

Review Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Decimals for test on 9.20.11

Review Gizmo and Compass Odyssey Procedures

Homework:
Tues: Compass Odyssey and Gizmo assignment are due on 9.26.11, bring completed Exploration Guide to class. Login on to Online Math Book and complete Practices Test for Chap 1 #1-23 for class 4B on due on 9.19.11. Study and Review for Decimals Test (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing) on 9.21.11.

Compass Odyssey Note:
Please pardon the interruptions in Compass Odyssey, and thank you for keeping up with the assignments, I was glad to see so many working that Math! All students should be working in either FCAT Prep 6th grade Big Idea 1 or Big Idea 2 and continuing with the Learning Paths.

ONLY WORK ON FCAT PREP 3, if you have completed/finished all of Big Idea 1 and Big Idea 2.

Consider Compass Odyssey as an assignment and you will receive an assignment grade based on your progress in the learning path and completion of assignments. Remember, 1 hour each week is the minimum. If you have questions or challenges with the assignments, please inform me as soon as possible via email. You guys are great! Thanks for being All Stars
