Hello All Stars,

Parents, Guardians, and Students: Tutoring resumed on Monday, 1.23.12. Ensure students have a math binders, notes, and questions. No IDK's, please.

Students, please get your assignments done and submit them on time. The quarter is ending on January 19th, and your grades are submitted on January 20th.  This is particularly important for Compass Odyssey and the Gizmo assignments. Ensure you are completing both, the Exploration Guide and Assessment questions by the due dates.  Remember, late work will not be accepted. Please do not fax, email, or leave late work in the main office. Thank you.

Intensive Math 6th Grade: (Team Time Group)

Topic: Mean, Median, Mode, and Range and Data Displays and Review of Fractions, Decimals and Percents.
Test Corrections: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents due on 1.19.12 

Period: 5B and 6B

Math Connects Course 2 (MJ2: Pre-Alg)

Topic: Introduction to Percents and Rate of Change (Tax, Tip, Discount, and Markup) Module E. 

Homework:

Tues: 1 Hour of Compass Odyssey Module "E" and Gizmo Assignment due on 1.23.12 and Percent of Change Skills Practices 6-3B, pages 93-94 (all) from the workbook is due on 1.19.12.

Thurs: Study for Vocabulary Quiz next week on Chapter 6/Module E and identify a college of your choice you would like to attend.  Identify admission requirements and cost be prepared to discuss in class and share your findings next week.   

Note: Compass Odyssey Module E completion is due on 1.30.12 (All folders must be completed by January 30, 2012.).

Extra Credit:  An "Extra Credit" Module is under construction and will apply to the 3rd quarter.  Students that have complete Module E will be allowed to work on the "Extra Credit" Module.  Points for completion of the Module will be applied to the third quarter grade.  The Module will be available on Monday, 1.23.12. 

Period 1A, 3A, and 4B

Topic: Data Analysis (Mean Median, Mode, Range, and Outlier) Module E. 

Introduction to Stem and Leaf Plots, Scatter Plots, and Line Plots.

Odyssey Note:

ALL students are assigned Module E for completion by January 30th Compass Odyssey is an assignment and you will receive an assignment grade based on your progress in the learning path and completion of assignments. Remember, 1 hour each week is the minimum. If you have questions or challenges with the assignments, please inform me as soon as possible via email or during our class session. You guys are great, thanks for being All Stars!
